Lotto MAX (Canada)
 
Lotto Max is a Canadian lottery game that replaced Lotto Super 7.
Lotto Max tickets were available beginning September 19, 2009, with draws held every Friday starting with September 25, 2009.
The player chooses seven numbers from a field of 49 , with prizes awarded based on how many played numbers match with the drawn numbers.
It costs $5 for a three-game play (Lotto 6/49 is $2 for one line), and there is a "Maxmillions" bonus feature where the jackpot is capped at $50 million, beyond which additional draws will be conducted for $1 million each.
The Lotto Max game is administered by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation which works with the five lottery corporations owned by provincial governments.

Forty-eight per cent of LOTTO MAX draw sales is dedicated to the Prize Fund. The total amount of $20 and Free Play prizes is paid from the Prize Fund, and the balance of the fund (the Pools Fund) is then allocated to the 5/7, 6/7, 6/7 + Bonus and 7/7 prize categories as indicated in the table below. If there is more than one winner in the 5/7, 6/7, 6/7 + Bonus or 7/7 prize categories, the prize in that category will be shared among the winners in that category. Any amount not won in the 7/7 or 6/7 + Bonus prize categories is added to the 7/7 prize category for the next draw.
A winning set of numbers for the LOTTO MAX Main Draw entitles a winner to a prize in only one of the above prize categories.

The mystery has been solved: the Maryland Lottery?s winning Mega Millions ticket has been claimed. Stephen Martino, Director of the Maryland Lottery, announced at a press conference this morning that the ticket was claimed by three very happy individuals. The three friends, all of whom work in Maryland?s public education system, will share the $218.6 million portion of the record-breaking $656 million jackpot from March 30.

Maryland sold one of the winning tickets for last night?s record-breaking $640 million Mega Millions jackpot. The lucky ticket was purchased at a retailer in Baltimore County.
